Tiananmen Mission – First Episode: The Call Tiananmen Mission is an epic story of a young student Zhang Jian, who survived Chairman Deng Xiaoping’s Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989. We met Zhang Jian in 2005 at a hotel in a small town in France where he shared his story. We recorded this magnificent journey of his inspirations that brought him to Tiananmen Square and his first-hand accounts of living through the massacre.
