Rupertikirtag (St. Rupert’s Day Fair) is an annual fair held on the city squares next to Salzburg Cathedral, in honor of Saint Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, Austria. The fair is held every year in September, and features vintage fairground rides, market stalls, craft demonstrations, beer tent, music and dance.
Rupert of Salzburg or Rupert of Worms was a bishop, founder of the city of Salzburg, venerated as a saint by the Catholic and Orthodox churches. He was a contemporary of Childebert III, king of the Franks ( Source: Wikipedia).
