1. Tumbled in Nairobi’s heat,
I lost my way in Kansas wheat
My soles ached heavily in Spain
In Greece I missed the morning train
The desert’s sun did break my will
I froze on mountains in Brazil
I saw true faces on the globe
and everywhere they gave me hope
I felt the sense right to the core
and don’t see borders any more.
2. An old man drove me to the town
A young girl told me not to frown
She gave me water from the source
she helped me just without a cause
to show me warmth they felt as task
although I didn’t even ask.
I saw true faces on the globe
and everywhere they gave me hope
don’t think of nations for today
cause we’ re all humans, anyway.
3. The people always helped me out
about their words there was no doubt
My soul was true, my heart was pure
with honesty I felt secure
they solved my problems big or small
I never felt afraid at all
I saw true faces on the globe
and everywhere they gave me hope
no wars to fight, no aims to strike
believe me we’re all alike!
