In a development that could be straight out of a thriller, the CIA made a shocking discovery: the long-lost Ark of the Covenant. An important symbol in Jewish faith and history, as well as a mystical artifact. In 1988, the Ark was allegedly located in the Middle East by a psychic during a series of experiments, “remote viewing.” The CIA initiated the search as part of its secret ‘Project Sun Streak.’ This project focused on extrasensory perception (ESP) and explored the use of psychic abilities for intelligence gathering.
But what exactly in Remote Viewing?
Aimed to gather information about a distant or unseen target, the practice surprisingly used extrasensory perception (ESP) or “anomalous cognition.” Remote viewing is associated with psychic phenomena which the CIA and the U.S. government utilised in various contexts, including military and intelligence applications.
The U.S. government explored the potential of remote viewing merely for espionage and intelligence gathering during the time of Cold War and rivalry with USSR. Practitioners then believed that remote viewers were capable of accessing information beyond the normal sensory channels through meditation, relaxation techniques, or focused intention of perceiving distant locations without being physically present,
According to a document declassified on August 8, 2000, which is now gaining traction on social media website, U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Joe McMoneagle was found to be the first remote viewer involved. McMoneagle, explained that he was the first to conduct psychic phenomenon experiments for the CIA.
The document revealed the vision of Remote Viewer #32, who described a secret location in the Middle East where the Ark was hidden. Although the viewer did not specifically identify the object as the Ark of the Covenant, they described it as “protected by entities.” The CIA document read: “The target is a container. This container has another container inside of it. The target is fashioned of wood, gold, and silver, and it is decorated with [a six-winged angel].” It further explained: “The target is protected by entities and can only be opened by those who are authorized to do so. This container will not/cannot be opened until the time is deemed correct. Once it is time to open the container, the mechanics of the lock system will be found to be fairly simple.”
In terms of the Ark’s location, the remote viewer’s description pointed to the Middle East. They noted that the Ark was situated in a secret underground facility, surrounded by domed structures resembling mosques, with people speaking Arabic and wearing white robes. Additionally, the viewer emphasized the Ark’s connection to powerful spiritual elements, mentioning its role in ceremonies, memory, and resurrection. Speculation suggests the Ark could be in Jerusalem or Ethiopia, both of which have been long linked to Ark-related theories. However, no concrete evidence has emerged to support the claim that the Ark is in Ethiopia. It’s also important to note that remote viewing lacks credible scientific backing and is generally regarded as pseudoscience.
The documents took an even more eerie turn, revealing that “entities” guard the Ark, and the container cannot be opened by anyone except those authorized. Moreover, any attempt to pry open the Ark or force it open would lead to destruction by the Ark’s protectors.
While some claim successes in remote viewing, it remains a controversial topic with skepticism from the scientific community due to the lack of empirical evidence supporting the claims. Overall, it is viewed as a pseudoscience by many.
The Ark of the Covenant regained attention in popular culture after the release of Steven Spielberg’s 1981 Oscar-winning film *Raiders of the Lost Ark,* in which the globetrotting archaeologist Indiana Jones seeks to uncover the artifact.
According to Jewish and Christian tradition, the gold-plated wooden chest houses the original stone tablets of the Ten Commandments, which God is believed to have given to Moses between the 13th and 16th centuries BC.
When looked at the Ark in relation with remote, practitioners were eager to find its current location, historical importance, or the events associated with it through extrasensory means. The remote viewers claimed to gain insights into the Ark’s whereabouts or speculate on its alleged powers, seen as symbols of divine presence.
Remember, remote viewing is sometimes applied to various topics, including significant historical artifacts, many view these claims with skepticism due to the lack of scientific validation.
