National Museums Scotland commissioned Tigershark to produce two videos promoting its Ming – The Golden Empire exhibition.
The videos were devised to be a key part of the museum’s marketing strategy, with a short teaser video to be released in advance of the exhibition’s launch and a more in-depth production to build the audience’s excitement once the doors were open.
A collection of artefacts from the Nanjing Museum, the exhibition covers a significant period in China’s history, marked by economic strength and a dramatic flourishing of the arts.
The Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644) saw some remarkable cultural, technological and economic achievements, while the exquisite luxury items and rare objects reveal the wealth and opulence of the Ming imperial court. These include the iconic blue and white porcelain with which the Ming period is synonymous, as well as sumptuous silk textiles, gold and jades.
