In 1967, George Balanchine choreographed three ballets, Emeralds, Rubies and Diamonds, for New York City Ballet. Today, we know them as Jewels. Pacific Northwest Ballet Artistic Director Peter Boal brought Jewels to PNB in 2006. Since then, he has invited members of the original cast to coach our dancers. In 2014, we were honored to have four of the original dancers in our Seattle studios. Through rehearsals, lecture-demonstrations and interviews, they left an indelible mark on the Company. In observance of the 50th anniversary of Jewels, we are sharing their wealth of knowledge, insight and humor.
