Every year in this small town in Switzerland, more than 100,000 watch fans come together. Whether they are people from the watch industry, collectors or just visitors, they all reunite in what is called the largest watch event in the world: Baselworld.
Although the attention is mostly directed towards watches for men, which represents the majority of luxury goods sold globally from this category, stands dedicated to watches for women attracted the attention of many people.
Below you can see the trend for women watches in 2016:
DIVAS’ DREAM 102561
Even if the new Bvlgari watch, the Diva, is powered by a quartz movement, it is quite difficult not to feel mild tingling sensations while you see so many diamonds that are placed in a manner so elegant and straightforward. The Diva’s clock dial is sprinkled with 233 brilliant-cut pavé diamonds and blued hands. The straps are satin, but you could replace them with whatever you like and still have a beautiful and elegant watch.
Patek Philippe, Rose Gold Ladies Complications
Vivane Borges, head of communications at Patek Philippe says that “every Philippe Patek watch is a work of art. But a work of art we want people to wear and to use”.
This watch design that was launched this year at Baselworld is inspired by the spiral arches of gymnastic ribbons. It consists of a dial of mother-of-pearl, on which there are 314 diamonds, and on the case you can find 273 diamonds. All the diamonds are cutted in 9 different sizes and rubies are used to mark each hour.
Breguet, Classique Phase de Lune Dame
The new Classique Phase de Lune Dame includes the blued-steel hour and minute hands that became Breguet’s signature. This design that first appeared in 1783 has been taken over by watchmakers worldwide.
The Dior VIII Grand Bal Piece Unique Ondine N°3
The Dior VIII Grand Bal Coquette clock with it’s cotton-candy pink and cerulean blue palette, has set the start for the beginning colors of spring.

Jaquet Droz, The Lady 8

The Petite Heure Minute Thousand Year Lights
“We create watches that are works of art and of engineering in one piece” said François Bezault, Jaquet Droz’s brand manager.
The New Chopard Happy Diamonds Watch Collection
In this new design, watchmakers at Chopard have added more diamonds than they ever added before. Moreover, the precious stones have different sizes, thus highlighting their delicate dance. This stylish ladies watch is available in a round-shaped version and in a cushion-shaped case with gentle curves. Whatever watch you choose, it sits beautifully on the wrist. This unique concept of dancing diamonds became an inspiration for a wide range of watches, necklaces, pendants and earrings.
It seems that 2016 is a year that not only embraces the complexity and the elegance of a woman, but also the beauty and naturalness of her dance.
